Spotify Releases Native ARM Apps for Windows
The latest beta brings a series of changes and additions specifically optimized for the ARM64 platform. This means that any Windows PC system with an ARM processor inside can now experience Spotify as a native app, fully supported in terms of features and stability.
The ARM64 version for the client was announced by Spotify on the app's official forums. The post includes a link to download the executable (version 1.1.86.857), along with a message listing known issues and being worked on.
According to Spotify, the app is currently struggling with handling some video podcasts. For example, instead of playing podcasts, the application asks users to update to a new version. Most of the issues have been noted, and Spotify will gradually fix it in future updates.
Prior to this new version of the app, Windows ARM PC users could still run Spotify using an emulator. However, the experience brought will certainly not be equal to the original application, both in terms of features and performance. Of course, it should also be noted that the Spotify ARM app is currently still in beta testing, so there will be some backlog issues that make it difficult for users to get the most optimal experience.
If you intend to use Spotify Beta on Windows ARM PC right now, you should take a moment to share your feedback with the player to help improve the app. Other users can download the app as usual from the official Spotify website or the Microsoft Store. There is also another (somewhat odd) option to run the Android version of Spotify on Windows.
