See the cat that looks like a leopard
Because of its beautiful coat, the Ocelot brocade cat is often hunted for its fur.
This cat is widely distributed throughout South America, Central America. Their body length when mature is about 68-100cm, tail length is 26-45cm, weight is about 8-18kg.
The Ocelot brocade cat has a beautiful shape, smooth fur, and round ears. Another peculiarity of this cat is its relatively large front paws.
The Ocelot is also solitary, like most other cats. This cat is very fierce in defending the territory, even they are ready to fight to the death to dispute the territory. The Ocelot tabby cat uses urine or parts to mark its territory. Males have a fairly large territory from 3.5-46 km2, while females are narrower about 0.8-15 km2.
This cat is usually only active at night to hunt small animals such as mammals, lizards, turtles, frogs, crabs, birds, fish, etc.
Ocelots usually only breed once a year and usually give birth to only one kitten (cases above 1 are very rare). Ocelot kittens grow quite slowly, at birth weigh about 250g and open their eyes after 15-18 days. Kittens stay with their mother until they are 2 years old, then separate and establish their own territory.
The average lifespan of an Ocelot black cat in captivity is about 20 years. Currently, their numbers are severely reduced because they are hunted too much for their fur.
