Samsung launched the new Series 7 duo before CES 2013
Prior to CES 2013, Samsung announced its new Windows 8 duo, including ultrabook Series 7 Ultra and a new version of the Series 7 Chronos laptop.
The Series 7 Ultra Ultrabook is equipped with a 13.3-inch screen located in the segment between the ultrabook Series 5 and Series 9 duo that the company launched last year. The product has an aluminum frame design designed for multimedia capabilities, supporting 1920 x 1080 pixel Full HD screen, AMD HD8570M discrete graphics card and JBL speaker. The device weighs 1.45 kg and is 17.5 mm thick for the non-touch version, while the touch version weighs 1.63 kg and is 18.9 mm thick, meaning heavier than ultrabook Series 9 eyes in mid-2012, weighs only 1.18 kg.
Inside the Series 7 Ultra is Intel Core i5 or Core i7 (ULV) processor, RAM supports up to 16 GB and SSD drive has a maximum capacity of 256 GB. It also comes with 3 USB 3.0 ports and optional 4G LTE connectivity, although price information has not yet been announced.
As for Series 7 Chronos, this is a multimedia entertainment machine with 4-core Intel Core i-series processor, up to 16 GB RAM memory, up to 1 TB of storage capacity and notably the export current AMD Radeon HD 8870 discrete graphics card. The 15.6-inch screen of the device supports a Full HD 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution that deserves a modern multimedia laptop.
Series 7 Chronos screen supports touch technology, which is quite common in current Windows 8 laptops, along with the design is only a bit thicker than the average 15.6-inch ultrabooks. Specifically, this ultrabook is only 20.9 mm thin but quite heavy, about 2.36 kg, much higher than the Series 7 Ultra brother released. Sadly, it doesn't come with an optical drive, which is common on screen laptop products of the same size.
Both products of Series 7 Ultra and Series 7 Chronos have not yet been announced for sale price and official date, Samsung will introduce more information about this duo at the upcoming CES 2013 exhibition in Las Vegas.
