Samsung has released the 860 Evo hard drive and the 860 Pro succeeds the most successful SSDs ever
Since its inception in 2014, Samsung's SSD 850 series has dominated the world in solid-state SSDs with good quality and many users.
Although it has also released a number of updates over the past few years to increase capacity, Samsung recently announced the next successors of its 850 Evo and 850 Pro hard drives: the 860 Evo and the 860 Pro.
The biggest change on the new hard drives is Samsung moving from 3D NANO 48 layers to 3D NANO 64 layers, updating MJX SSD and LPDDR4 DRAM controllers instead of LPDDR3 DRAM.
As before, Samsung has released both versions: the more economical Evo and the higher-end Pro series. The Pro series offers slightly faster speeds, rated twice as much as the Evo series, largely due to the use of 2-bit MLC technology instead of 3D NANO MLC 3-bit (slower, less reliable). And usually cheaper, also known as TLC) is still used on the Evo line.
