Notable security features on the latest Windows 10
With Windows 10 updates, Spring Creators Update (priced at $ 92.99 at Amazon.com), Microsoft gives you greater control over your data and accounts. After learning new features such as Timeline, sharing and Settings applications, you will probably want to familiarize yourself with this new set of security settings.
Application permissions settings
Previously, you could set access to the types of information the application could access on your system, including the location, camera, microphone, and files in the device, but this option was very deep in security settings. With the latest Windows 10, you already have a very useful list of installed applications and setting permissions for each application. Go to Settings> Apps> Apps & features , select an application, click Advanced options and use the switch button to set the permissions of the application.
Delete information that Microsoft has collected about you
Microsoft is becoming more transparent about the information collected from you with the Diagnostic Data Viewer application , and it makes it easy to delete that information by adding the Delete button to the Settings application. Go to Settings> Privacy> Diagnostics & feedback and you can choose to share at Basic or Full level level . Below, you will find the Delete button to remove all data that Microsoft has collected from your computer.
Just above the Delete button is the area called Diagnostic Data Viewer. Make sure the switch button is turned on, then click the Diagnostic Data Viewer button. You will open Microsoft Store to install this Diagnostic Data Viewer application. Run the application and you will be able to see what Microsoft has collected about you. This information does not appear directly, but they are always available in the application if you want to filter information through it.
Recover passwords for local accounts
In the past, if you chose to log in to your computer using a local admin account without using a Microsoft account, it is better not to forget your computer password because "local" means you are using Use your account, while Microsoft only provides password recovery help for Microsoft accounts. With Spring Creators Update, you can ask three security questions for local accounts you can answer if you can't remember your password.
Go to Settings> Accounts> Sign-in options and click Update your security questions to set up your security question .
