An anonymous network security researcher claims to have created a worm that could put malware into the OS X operating system of Mac computers. However, after making this announcement, this author was threatened.
According to the blog post on information security, the worm shows that Apple computers are as vulnerable and compromised as computers running Windows operating systems. The new worm exploited the vulnerability in OS X operating system that Apple hasn't patched since last May.
This blog is written by a group of researchers named 'Infosec Sellout'.
The author has not yet informed Apple about the virus, but plans to contact the company in the future.
The author said that when exploited, the worm will be able to run code at the base level and allow hackers to install software into the system they are targeting.
" Although this is not very old, especially if compared to counterfeit software based on the Windows operating system, this is also a warning. Apple computers are also vulnerable to these problems," the researcher said. Fake software based on Windows operating system . '
Infosec Sellout's researcher is not the first to point out this problem.
The virus that attacked Apple's iChat application first appeared in February 2006, shortly after targeting the Bluetooth software for OS X. Nine months later, a third virus was found in list and voiceover OSX. Macarena.
