Microsoft upgrades Copilot with a series of new features: from Bing, OneDrive to Teams

Copilot seems to be Microsoft's darling as the company continues to integrate its AI assistant into all sorts of products and workflows. The Redmons company recently brought Copilot to Samsung TVs and smart displays, introduced Copilot for Azure in Visual Studio, and updated the Copilot app on Windows. And soon, the company will add a series of notable new features.

Over the past few days, Microsoft has updated quite a few new items on the Microsoft 365 Roadmap , and most of them are related to Copilot. Specifically including:

  1. Smarter Bing integration: The company is testing interactive web answer cards from Bing for topics like stocks, weather, etc. (ID 500865), expected to launch in November 2025. This is also a way to promote the two services in parallel.
  2. Copilot Dashboard for Small Businesses: Previously, the Copilot Dashboard required a minimum of 50 Copilot licenses to track usage trends. But starting in November 2025 , this limit will be removed (ID 501581), making it more accessible to small businesses.
  3. Improved OneDrive experience on iOS/iPadOS: In the Microsoft 365 Copilot app, when users want to perform advanced actions (like navigating folders, adjusting permissions, downloading), they will be taken directly to the OneDrive app. However, they will still be able to search and view recent files right in Copilot. Additionally, users will soon be able to create documents with prompts (ID 500632, September 2025) and access OneDrive more deeply (ID 501277, October 2025).
  4. Enterprise feature: Copilot Chat will allow for scheduling questions based on RSVP status, e.g. 'List all events I haven't RSVP' (ID 499429, coming September 2025). Copilot will also support referencing Loop or Page when creating PowerPoint slides (ID 500862-4).
  5. More updates in September 2025:
    1. Users can quickly launch the Microsoft 365 Copilot app directly from the Chat window in Microsoft 365 apps (ID 500866).
    2. Copilot Chat will appear in Microsoft Teams, in chats, calls, and meetings (ID 501107).
  6. Government Sector (GCC): In the coming days, GCC customers will also be able to use AI to create images, posters, forms, and infographics that meet government branding standards.

However, Microsoft notes that the features and timelines in the Roadmap are subject to change, so users shouldn't be too surprised if the plan is adjusted later.
