Just real and virtual: Let's see a series of creative robots living among people
People upgraded by machines, artificial intelligence, robots . are all things that people imagine about the future of the Earth, but will they become a reality?
"Robot neighbors" is a photo project by French photographer Niko Photographisme, creating a perspective where the boundary between 'human' and 'robot' is blurred.
"People upgraded by machines, artificial intelligence, robots . are all things that people imagine about the future of the Earth, but will they become a reality?" - Mr. Niko shared. "And if this future comes true, will we still be able to distinguish between flesh-and-blood humans and robots, what will the consequences of this be for human life? "
"The purpose of this photo project is to show people a vision where human 'robotization' has become a reality. These individuals live a life similar to others, but are secretive. more thoughtful so people do not see their nature, avoid judgments, funerals. "
"I also want a comparison between this series of photos and our current lives. We have a real appearance, but there is another 'appearance' in cyberspace. On the internet, we can close pretending to be anyone, but these appearances don't represent the true nature of every human being. "
Photographer and designer Niko Photographisme has been in the imaging industry for over a decade. This project was started by him in 2017, with more than 100 photos from 40 different professional models.
In the process of creating the photos, he relies on real props and retouches and cuts from it instead of creating new things from CGI.
"First I will discuss ideas with the model, find the type of photo that suits them best. I usually take photos right in their homes. I bring props like wires, steel pipes . then take pictures. models and props in the same photo, using Photoshop to merge them into one. Then I use Lightroom to edit all photos of the same color, with uniformity. "
