Apple Acknowledges That the MacBook Air's Anti-glare Coating

Reportedly, the problem with anti-glare coating is not new, and has "haunted" Apple since the 2012 MacBooks to date. Previously, this issue only affected MacBook and MacBook Pro models. Apple's new email above is the first time we see mentioning a possible problem with the MacBook Air.

The email doesn't really describe how the "problem" of anti-glare coating affects the MacBook Air's screen, but many users have so far reported that the screen overlay, located above the glass, Can gradually peel off after a long time of use.

The first MacBook Air with a Retina display debuted in 2018. It's possible that some of them are now beginning to show signs of flaking.

Apple has opened a free repair program for MacBooks and MacBook Pros since the 2015 model year and has encountered this problem. However, the MacBook Air has yet to appear on the list of free repaired devices.
