Better storage capacity on data centers will also bring better cloud services, which are being used by many people every day.As cloud computing becomes popular with both enterprise applications, storage demand is also increasing.

Intel is increasingly difficult to bring SSDs to individual users due to Samsung's fierce competition, but the business market is another story.Storage capacity of network cabinets (server rack) is much more important than a storage drive.

Much like the normal 12-inch ruler, Intel's P4500 DC SSD is capable of storing 32 terabytes.Consisting of 64 ultra-thin 3D NAND layers, the P4500 is currently the SSD with the highest storage density.If the entire US Congress library is digitized, Intel's SSD can store three times that amount of data.

Thanks to the shape and heat sink along the drive, the data center can stack these 32 SSDs into a server slot, meaning a slot can hold up to one petabyte of data without much cooling.

Wayne Allen is the head of this latest technology development team.The group also worked with many industry customers to create a size-based SSD known as Enterprise & Datacenter Small Form Factor (EDSFF).

'Because [size] influences the server design and helps increase the density of storage, it is very important.We are redesigning the data center with this, for me it's very interesting. '

Intel does not currently provide this super-solid-state SSD, but looking at low-end storage drives, business customers won't be disappointed.The read / write capability of the same 8TB drive is 3,300 MB / s and 1,900 MB / s respectively.

The capacity used is 0.75 per day when writing and reading randomly.Sequential recording capability is 4.62 per day with 8TB models.

Compared to traditional hard drives, Intel's new SSDs consume less than 10 times more electricity and only occupy physical space equal to 1/20.
