Intel Prepares to Launch Arc Battlemage BMG-G31 GPU, Teases Powerful Arc B770 Coming Soon

The market may soon see the launch of a higher-end GPU in the Battlemage line. A new series of leaks suggests that Intel is ready to launch the BMG-G31 – a chip that will likely appear in the long-awaited Arc B770.

According to a leaked NBD shipping manifest, the Xe2-based BMG-G31 GPU has surfaced, suggesting that Intel is getting closer to launching the Arc B770. Previously, the company had always claimed that there would be a more powerful Battlemage version than the Arc B580 – which is currently the fastest GPU but still only in the mainstream segment.

Intel has released several variants using the same BMG-G21 GPU die, from the Arc B570 to the Arc Pro B50 and B60 workstations. However, the community is still waiting for the appearance of the BMG-G31 - the chip expected to succeed the Arc A770 and bring superior power.

An X (formerly Twitter) user named @Haze2K1 discovered the BMG-G31 chip in a shipping manifest from June 11. The document shows that the GPU die size is roughly the same as the BMG-G21, but the core count and specifications are significantly higher. Specifically, the Arc B770 is rumored to have 32 Xe2 cores, accompanied by 16GB of memory and a 256-bit memory bus. Thus, the BMG-G31-based graphics card will be larger and more powerful than the Arc B580.

The BMG-G31 previously appeared in Compute Runtime with four device IDs. That was over a month and a half ago, while the shipping manifest showed an even earlier time. The most recent leak was the Arc B580, which was released about 2.5 months later.

Although the official release date has not been confirmed, with recent moves, observers believe that Intel will launch the Arc B770 right before the end of 2025. This will be an important card to help the company expand its presence in the discrete GPU market, where Nvidia and AMD still dominate.
