The HP Pavilion HDX laptop is aimed at multimedia enthusiasts, with a 20.1-inch high-definition screen that can watch 1080p high-definition TV (maximum resolution), HP said. Users can choose to watch movies from HD DVD or Blu-ray drive.
Equipped with Intel's Core 2 Extreme or Core 2 Duo processor, laptops include a hybrid TV tuner that allows users to watch high-quality and similar TV programs. The tuner also provides video recording capability in which users can record or pause live TV shows.
The computer includes an Nvidia GeForce 8800M GTS graphics card with 512Mb of video memory, and four Altec Lansing speakers that integrate a subwoofer. This device can store up to 500Gb, wireless and wired network support.
HP Pavillion HDX laptop aimed at multimedia enthusiasts
It will run on Windows Vista Home Premium or Windows Vista Ultimate operating system. Starting at $ 1,999, it will be sold in the US this month, according to HP.
HP on Thursday also introduced a pocket PC Pavillion tx2000, a pocket laptop for students and professors. Users can rotate the screen 180 degrees and use a stylus to record handwriting or surf the web. Laptops use the dual-core Advanced Micro Devices' Turion 64 X2, 12.1-inch screen and Windows Vista operating system. It also includes a writable or non-writable DVD drive, the ability to store up to 250Gb, integrated wired or wireless network, fingerprint reader and a webcam. It weighs only 4.29 pounds with about 4 batteries.
The PC has the lowest price of $ 1,299, depending on the configuration. It will also be sold this month in the US.
