How to watch YouTube videos on Samsung Galaxy Watch
You can watch YouTube videos on your Samsung Galaxy Watch without having to go through complicated steps or sideloading apps. All you need is to install a browser and you're ready to stream YouTube.
Let's take a look at how to do it, along with a few things you'll need to adjust to navigate YouTube without any problems. The watch used in the illustration is running on WearOS 3.5 and One UI 4.5.
Samsung Internet Settings
Samsung Galaxy Watch does not have a pre-installed browser. For this reason, you will have to download an app from the Play Store.
You can install the browser by visiting the Google Play Store on your smartwatch, searching for Samsung Internet, and tapping Install. Alternatively, open the Galaxy Wearable App on your phone, go to Store, search for Samsung Internet, and install it on your watch.
Play YouTube videos on Samsung Galaxy Watch
Once you install Samsung Internet on your watch, you can access YouTube as you would on any other device's browser. Here's how:
1. Locate Samsung Internet on the watch's apps screen.
2. YouTube must be the first bookmark on the browser application screen; If not, you can search for it by entering YouTube in the search bar.
3. Open YouTube and search for any video you want to watch. If you don't see the search bar, you'll have to minimize the screen as shown in the next steps.
4. If you don't connect headphones to your watch, YouTube audio will play through the speakers.
When you launch YouTube, you'll encounter a serious problem - the circular screen cuts off YouTube's Sign in button. To solve this problem:
1. Swipe up from the bottom of the screen.
2. Go to Zoom mode and turn on the switch.
3. Zoom out with the - button to change the browser's appearance to a rectangle.
4. No YouTube elements are cut out so you can easily log in to your account.
Although your Galaxy Watch can play videos without any performance issues, you should limit viewing time to a few minutes at a time. Playing video will affect your watch's battery life.
The ability to watch YouTube on a smartwatch can be useful at times. For example, if you want to quickly check something without having to pick up your phone in another room.
Plus, when you're in a boring place but can't take out your phone, you can sneak in a video or two right on your smartwatch. Just make sure you use headphones to get the best listening experience for yourself and those around you.
