How to Use the Summarize Feature on macOS - Summarize Text Content

The Summarize feature on macOS is highly useful for anyone who frequently works with long documents.

For work, you often have to read and refer to a lot of English documents. However, long documents make summarizing the content much more difficult. If your device is running macOS, you can use the Summarize feature, which can automatically summarize the content of documents. Step 1:

First, you need to access System Preferences > Keyboard > Shortcuts > Services . Next, in the Text section, scroll down and check the Summarize option.

Additionally, by clicking the Add shortcut button, we can set a keyboard shortcut for this Summarize feature.

Step 2:

To use the Summarize feature, in the document interface (for example, in a browser), highlight the entire text you want to summarize.

Then right-click and select Services > Summarize . If you have set up a keyboard shortcut, simply click on the shortcut key.

Another way is to click on the Summarize feature from the Menu bar .

Step 3:

Immediately afterwards, a Summary pop-up dialog box appears displaying the summarized content. The content of this summary will depend on the amount of information in the original text.

In this Summary interface, users can customize the level of summary information using the Summary Size slider below, with a scale from 1 to 100%.

Additionally, you can choose to display the summary content as individual sentences or paragraphs by selecting one of the two options.

If you want to save this summary, highlight the entire text, click Copy, and paste it into Word or Notepad.
