How to install Avira Free Antivirus on your computer

Avira Free Antivirus helps protect your device from viruses, malware, and online attacks. The following guide will help you quickly download and install the software on Windows.

System requirements for installing Avira

Before proceeding with the installation, please check your device's specifications:
- Operating system: Windows 7, 8, 10, 11 (32-bit & 64-bit).
- Minimum RAM: 2GB.
- Free hard disk space: 2GB.

How to install Avira Free Antivirus (latest version)

First, you need to download  Avira  to your computer.
After downloading, follow these steps in order.

Step 1:  Right-click on the software and select Open .

Step 2: In the notification window that appears, select Run .

Step 3: On the welcome screen, click the Accept and Install button .

Step 4: Next, Avira gives users two installation options:
- Express : The standard installation mode, recommended for use.
- Custom : User-defined installation mode.
In this example, Taimienphi chooses Express , then clicks Next .

Step 5: On the next screen, select Install Avira Free Antivirus and then press Next to proceed to the next step.

Step 6: Enter your personal information into the fields. After completing, click Next .
Note: Fields marked with an asterisk (*) are mandatory.

Please wait a few minutes for the system to install automatically. After completion, open the software on your computer; the interface will look like the illustration below.

How to install Avira (Older version)

First, download  Avira.

The installation process takes place in the following order:

Step 1: Open the Avira Free AntiVirus installation file you just downloaded, named avira-fre-antivirus.exe. A notification window will appear showing the software name along with the folder path where the installation file is stored. Select Run to continue.

Step 2: Wait for the program to load for a while, then you will see a guide panel with 3 main options: Modify, Repair/update, and Remove. - Modify : Select certain components within the program to add or remove all existing components. 

- Repair/Update : Install the latest version of Avira Free AntiVirus or repair the existing installation. Click Next. 

- Remove: If you want to remove the Avira Free AntiVirus that is pre-installed on your computer.

Choose Modify if your computer doesn't already have this extension installed.

Click Next to continue.

 

Step 3: The Avira Free AntiVirus installation process takes only a few seconds.

Software Usage Guide: After the installation process is complete, the program will have an interface like the image below.

On the toolbar, select Extra --> Configurations

In this window, under PC Protection , select Real-Time Protection and then Report . On the right, select Extended in the Logging section, then Apply and OK.

From now on, whenever your computer shows signs of a virus, Trojan, or spyware infection, Avira Free Antivirus will immediately alert you so you can take timely action.
