How to find the default IP address of a Belkin router
The family broadband router is assigned two IP addresses. An address to connect to external networks such as the Internet and an address to communicate with devices located within the network.
Internet service providers provide Public IP addresses for external connections. The router manufacturer sets the default Private IP address used for the local network and the home network administrator controls it. The default IP address of all Belkin routers is 192.168.2.1.

Set the default IP address of Belkin router
Each router contains a default Private IP address when it is manufactured. Specific values depend on brand and router model.
The administrator must know the address to connect to the router's control panel through the browser, to perform things like changing the wireless password, setting up port forwarding, enabling or disabling Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol. (DHCP), or place a custom Domain Name System (DNS) server.
Any device connected to a Belkin router using the default IP address can access the router control panel on the web browser. Enter this URL in the address field in the browser:
http://192.168.2.1/
This address is sometimes referred to as the default gateway address because client devices consider routers such as ports to the Internet and computer operating systems sometimes use this term on their network configuration menus.
Default username and password
You are prompted to enter the admin username and password before you can access the router control panel. You should change this information the first time you set up the router. If you have never done this and just need the username and the default password for the Belkin router, try the following:
- Default username: admin, Admin or leave blank.
- Default password: admin, password or blank.
If you change the default login information and lose new login information, reset the router and then enter the default username and password. On Belkin routers, the reset button is usually located on the back side of the Internet port. Press and hold this reset button for 30 to 60 seconds.
Things to know when resetting the router
Resetting a Belkin router replaces all network settings, including its local IP address, by the manufacturer's default values. Even if the administrator has changed the default address before, resetting the router will change everything back to default.
Resetting the router is only necessary in rare situations, when the device is updated with an incorrect setting or invalid data, such as a firmware upgrade is faulty, causing it to stop responding to love. admin connection
Unplugging or using the router's on / off switch does not cause the router to revert its IP address settings to default. The process of resetting the actual software to the factory default settings must still take place.
Change the default IP address of the router
Every time the home router is powered on, it will use the same private network address unless the admin changes it. Changing the default IP address of the router is necessary to prevent IP address conflicts with other modems or routers already installed on the network.
Some homeowners like to use easy-to-remember addresses. There is no advantage in network performance or security from using any Private IP address compared to other IP addresses.
Change the router's default IP address without affecting the other administrative settings of the router, such as the DNS address value, network mask (subnet mask) or router's password. It also doesn't have any effect on Internet connection.
Some Internet service providers monitor and allow home networks based on the modem or media (Control Access Control (MAC) access of the modem, not their local IP address.
