How to automatically delete OTP code messages in Google Messages on Android
Having to delete these types of messages manually is often quite time consuming. However, if you're using Google Messages as your primary messaging app on your device, there's a pretty cool trick you can try.
Set up automatic deletion of OTP code messages in Google Messages
Messages is a messaging application developed by Google and widely used on Android devices. Google Messages is a bit of a traditional messaging application, with RCS features. Some major Android manufacturers such as Google and Samsung have now chosen Google Messages as the default messaging application for their phones.
Of course, you can also download Google Messages from the Play Store to your device and set it as your default messaging application if you want. When you open the application, you will be guided to set as default.
Next, tap your profile picture at the top right of the screen.
From the menu that appears, click on 'Messages Settings'.
Next, navigate to the 'Message Organization' section.
Now just enable the option 'Auto-Delete OTPs After 24 Hrs'.
(Note: To use this feature, you must also enable the 'View Messages by Category' option — found on this same screen.
As explained on the settings screen, this feature will permanently delete any existing OTP messages you have, as well as other future OTPs. 24 hours is more than enough for you to use OTP codes and remove them from your device.
