Guide to end-to-end encryption on Instagram
During the texting process with the other person, there will be private and sensitive personal information that you need to send and share. End-to-end encryption on Instagram will ensure those message contents cannot be read. Below are instructions for enabling end-to-end encryption on Instagram.
How to enable end-to-end encryption on Instagram
Step 1:
First, open the Instagram application and then click on the messaging icon . Then you click on your Instagram account to text and proceed to encrypt the chat.
Step 2:
Next in the Instagram messaging interface, click on their Instagram account name . Switch to the new interface, users click on Privacy & safety to adjust.
Step 3:
An interface with options for privacy in this chat appears, click Use end-to-end encryption . Note, not all Instagram accounts can use the encryption feature. Then the option to use this encryption feature will be blurred and cannot be used.
As a result, the chat on Instagram has been end-to-end encrypted as shown below. You send messages on Instagram as usual.
We'll see that when you enable end-to-end encryption on Instagram, it creates a conversation separate from the conversation you previously messaged with them.
Instructions for creating end-to-end encrypted messages on Instagram
Step 1:
Also at the interface on the Instagram application, click on the messaging icon . Then switch to the messaging interface, click on the pen icon to create a new message.
Step 2:
You will now see the End-to-End Encryption Features option . We will slide the lock button to the right to activate this encryption feature.
Step 3:
Next, the user clicks on the Instagram account they want to message , and can create a group on Instagram if desired. Then click Create chat below.
