Turn water into ice
Looks like a mysterious magic trick, right? But how, and why does this happen?
Just a little chemical knowledge and simple materials you can accomplish this magic.
Viewers are easily fooled and think that the solution in the experiment is water. It is actually hydrated sodium acetate (NaCH3COO.3H2O). After a few steps of treatment, only one pinch of sodium acetate powder is normal, the solution will immediately crystallize.
Ingredients : vinegar and baking soda (NaHCO3) - which can be easily found at pharmacies or bakery stores.
How to do the following :
Mix 1 liter of vinegar, 1kg of baking soda and 200ml of water. We will get a mixture as follows.
Effervescent mixture due to CO2 escaping
This is saturated sodium acetate powder
Then, melt the mixture, to obtain a transparent solution. Finally, soak the solution in cold water and finish the preparation.
Now, just apply a little dry sodium acetate powder to your hands, you can make the solution freeze in a split second. But is your hand cold like ice? Rest assured, this is an exothermic reaction , so you will feel warm and not cold at all. Therefore, this experiment is also called "hot bandage" . Hot ice is completely non-toxic so you can be assured.
You can observe the experiment more closely through the video below.
In addition, you can create stunning customizations with this experiment.
