LPI (Linux Professional Institute), the world's first open source and neutral Linux certification organization, announced its entry into the Vietnamese market to actively support LPI testers in Vietnam and its owners. Certified owner since May 1, 2020 in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
History:
LPI is a non-profit organization established to develop Linux and open source. Since its inception in 1999 in Toronto, Canada, it has overseen Linux and open source certification exams in more than 180 countries around the world, including the United States, Europe, Japan, China and Korea.
Mission:
LPIC Vietnam was established as a LPI channel partner in Vietnam market to carry out its assigned mission. With the goal of making a positive contribution to the local open source ecosystem by connecting people, educational institutions and companies to promote open source professionals. The organization plans to expand cooperation programs with training partners, academic and recruitment partners to increase training opportunities. With the goal of reducing test thresholds, the organization will reduce testing materials, provide testing labs and localize tests and textbooks. Through networks of recruitment partners in Japan, South Korea and other countries, LPIC Vietnam will support domestic and foreign jobs of open source qualified professionals.
Level:
LPIC has three levels:
- LPIC-1: The first phase consists of using Linux and managing local systems and basic networks
- LPIC-2: The second phase is managing small and medium networks,
- LPIC-3: The third phase is to enhance the expertise on enterprise availability, virtualization and high-end security.
In addition, LPI provides DevOps testing tools such as Jenkins, Docker and Git and plans to provide various IT-related tests that can attract individual competencies tailored to the needs of the company. and the trend of the open source era.
LPIC Vietnam has launched an official website (https://lpicvietnam.org/) that provides helpful guidance for LPI certifications and provides Vietnamese students and job seekers with discount materials for them. LPI exams can be accessed at lower prices. In celebration of the website's opening day, the test documents are reduced by 20% from May 1 to May 31, 2020.
