This is equivalent to about 30% of the total 1.3 billion users of this social network and it has increased by 82% compared to a year ago. That shows the importance of mobile for Facebook. Mobile is also an area where the company has invested heavily in the past two years in order to build services and utilities to attract users, and deploy new forms of advertising on smartphones and tablets.
Also on this occasion, Facebook announced that 1 billion users log in to Facebook via mobile devices every month. In the second quarter alone, the company has added 62 million new mobile users. The growth of this social network comes mainly from countries outside the US, Canada and European countries, but where mobile devices are also growing equally.
