The truth is that Cambridge Analytica has collected more than 87 million Facebook users, not 50 million
According to Facebook CTO Mike Schroepfer, Cambridge Analytica data company may have collected illegal data of more than 87 million Facebook users, far larger than the number that the company previously announced is close. 50 million people.
Facebook said that on April 9, the company will start warning users about whether their data has been collected, including whether it has been collected by Cambridge Analytica. A link will appear at the top of each user's News Feed page to help them know which 3rd party application is holding their data.
After being engulfed in fire from a data leak of users, Facebook quickly changed many data policies to appease users and investors. One of those changes is the rewrite of terms of service (ToS) and blocking access to certain types of data that previous third-party developers can collect.
In the coming week, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg will also hear in front of Congress about the company's data privacy practices.
