Detailed list of new features on Windows Phone 8.1
Recently, we continuously receive information about the worthwhile upgrades of Windows Phone 8.1. However, the overwhelming information made the fans confused before dozens of new features.
Today, developers have extracted a file from the Windows Phone 8.1 SDK application development kit. This file contains a total of 39 new features that Windows Phone machines will receive when OEMs update.
Update 8.1 will help Windows Phone more "mainstream"
- Share a secure Wi-Fi connection with contacts if they have a Wi-Fi Sense app (no Wi-Fi password required).
- The notification bar is called the Action Center, activated by swiping from the top edge of the screen.
- Operators can control mobile internet capacity limits remotely via Data Sense application.
- Support network application settings on SIM card.
- Regular updates will now be reported as an 'important' update.
- Option to always download emails and images contained in emails.
- Support encryption and signature in email.
- Allow to change the default messaging application. At the same time, you can choose which messaging application will appear in the notification bar.
- Support business users with password change and remote phone lock feature.
- Add Swipe keyboard.
- Support tracking devices by geographic boundaries (called Geofence). This feature allows you to set up geographic areas where the device is allowed to operate. When the device is taken out of this area, there will be warnings and permission to follow the map.
- Office Lens feature. Allows scanning documents from documents or right from the phone screen.
- The device must be updated to the latest OS version if you want to restore the original settings.
- Add the option to automatically update the app via Marketplace.

- The Inner Circle feature allows creating group of contacts up to 40 people.
- Add images to your favorites list by selecting the heart icon (similar to Music app).
- SmartCard support.
2-touch touch to unlock will be available on all Windows Phone devices
In the above 39 new features, it is worth noting that the 2-touch feature to unlock / shutdown. Thus, it is possible that proprietary applications developed by Nokia will be available on all Windows Phone 8.1 devices when updated.
