Pacific propeller cockroach (Diploptera punctata) is the only species that gives birth and can produce milk containing protein crystals for young animals to eat. Milk of this cockroach is a rich source of nutrients and concentrated calories, a protein crystal contains more than three times the amount of equivalent milk and provides more calories than cow's milk.
Cockroaches milk is a complete calorie-rich food that can release calories timely for the body. However, for those who want to lose weight, this protein source is not suitable.
So, how do people produce cockroach milk?
Of course, it is impossible to express milk as with cows. Experts in India decided to arrange the gene sequence responsible for milk production in cockroaches and simulate that mechanism of milk secretion in the laboratory to produce cockroaches in large quantities.
Currently, cockroach milk has not been determined for human safety. But even if production is successful and safe, who is brave enough to drink this milk?
