Caviar launches iPhone 17 collection inspired by weapons, starting price over 9,400 USD
The smartphone world has recently entered a saturation phase. It is still the same boring, repetitive designs on all product lines from popular to high-end. Currently, 'customizing' the case is still the top option if you want to own a unique phone as well as show your class.
Luxury manufacturer Caviar has just introduced a new collection of customizable smartphones called 'Desperado', inspired by weapons, with sophisticated mechanical details and high-quality materials. This collection applies to both the current iPhone 16 Pro line and the upcoming iPhone 17 Pro.
Unique design
The top-of-the-line model, called the 'Russian Roulette', features a rotating pistol barrel on the back that holds a gold bullet. The user can rotate the mechanical barrel, but Caviar claims it is 'completely harmless'. The body is crafted from titanium, engraved with gold and silver patterns that mimic high-end gun engraving. The product is limited to just 19 units worldwide.
The 'Die Hard' model features a Beretta 92 pistol embossed on the titanium body, a walnut-wood grip, and intricate metal engravings. Only 20 were produced, matching the magazine capacity of the Beretta 92.
Meanwhile, the 'The Predator' model is inspired by the survival knife in the movie Predator (1987), with embossed motifs on the black PVD-coated titanium body, along with plant-inspired patterns. Like the Russian Roulette, the quantity is limited to 19 products.
Price and release
Caviar has announced prices for both generations of special edition iPhones:
- For the iPhone 16 Pro (128GB): The Predator costs $8,410, Die Hard $8,840, and Russian Roulette $9,990.
- For the iPhone 17 Pro (128GB): The Predator starts at $9,410, Die Hard at $9,845, and Russian Roulette at up to $10,985.
The iPhone 16 Pro is available now, while the iPhone 17 Pro models are available for pre-order, with shipping expected after Apple announces the new iPhones in September. Each comes with a luxury box, a collectible coin, and the iconic key – a signature of Caviar.
In addition to the Desperado collection, the Russian brand has also just introduced the Altair, a luxury padel racket priced at $8,070 with 18K gold accents, and a special version of the iPhone that integrates a real Omega Seamaster watch – the model once associated with the character James Bond – priced at a whopping $49,000.
In 2018, Caviar launched a number of iPhone XS and XS Max versions inspired by the story of Adam and Eve, priced at $7,000. Not long after, this tuning company also surprised many luxury enthusiasts when it launched unique iPhone 11s with cases studded with moon rocks, pieces of the Titanic or a Soviet spaceship, or even pieces of fabric from the sweater of the late legendary CEO Steve Jobs.
