A university in Hangzhou, China has implemented a new AI-based system that can help teachers know whether students are attending school fully or not. Specifically, this system allows students to log in with verification codes sent by phone and automatically send alerts to students who are not in class on time with risks of truancy.
Notice the system sent to non-school students with the following contents: 'Hello, I am AI, intelligent voice assistant from Hangzhou Dianzi University. I realized that you didn't go to class today. '
All feedback from students will be recorded and saved by the system, they will be used in the meeting with students.

Hu Haibin, deputy director of the student office, said the smart system was applied to more than half the class. The system helps teachers shorten attendance time from 7 to 8 minutes to only 15 seconds. After only 2 weeks since deploying the application, the rate of students going to school increased by 7%.
According to Mr. Hu, the application of smart systems not only helps to track students' absences, but also helps to find the root cause of the incident and build the database. School staff will meet students who are out of school to find out the cause.
Currently, China is trying to achieve its goal of becoming a global AI power in 2030 and creating a domestic AI industry worth 1,000 billion yuan. AI applications are applied in all aspects of life from large applications such as self-driving cars, training robots reading medical records, detecting cancer to detecting people who go wrong with traffic laws, saving paper. toilet…
