Elisha Hung, visual effects artist at Moonshine Animation, the production company Asus and MSI, turned his face with iPhone X, then used Xcode and Apple's augmented reality framework to retrieve data and transfer into 3D.
The result is a head with eye holes, mouth. Although not specific, this seems to be a glimpse into the future of face mapping applications as developers use Apple's face detection technology more.
Here's another example, Brad Dwyer, founder of the game company Hatchlings, printed 3D faces with raw data from Apple's TrueDepth camera.
