According to Fast Company, Apple is likely to choose Intel's 5G modem for its future iPhones.

Apple engineers are currently working with Intel for the upcoming 5G technology. However, the discussion between Apple and Qualcoom is described as 'limited'.

Fast Company sources say that although Qualcomm's 5G modem has more advanced features, many of them are not used by many service providers, so Apple thinks it is okay from Intel.

Many sources say the ultimate goal is to build an Intel model on a system-on-chip SoC system that contains both CPU, GPU and other components of the iPhone. SoC will be designed by Intel and Apple and assembled at Intel's facility. '

The 5G modem will deliver speeds 10 to 100 times faster than 4G

Intel said that 'thousands' of people are working with 5G technology to catch up with Qualcomm and sign a contract with Apple. They think that they have achieved 'significant progress' on the 5G reception route. Accordingly, the previous 5G silicon-based 5G call will be successful, and this is an "important milestone in the development process."

Intel hopes the 5G chips will be available in 2019, before being released on the 5G network. 5G is expected to be 10 to 100 times faster than 4G, up to gigabit / second or more, lower latency and many other benefits.

Apple's consideration of Intel's 5G technology is also consistent with the belief that Apple will stop using Qualcomm chips for iPhone and iPad of 2018.
