Xiaomi developed new fast charging technology, fully charging 4,000mAh battery in just 17 minutes
In addition to the camera quality, the ability to charge fast on mobile devices is also one of the factors that Chinese smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi has paid special attention in recent years. The advent of fast charging technology will not only help Xiaomi's products compete better with rivals from Vivo, Oppo or Huawei, but also significantly improve the user experience, but the core here is is the convenience.
In fact, Xiaomi has developed a fast charging technology called Super Charge Turbo with a capacity of up to 100w (20V / 5A), promising to shorten the charging time on mobile devices to an astounding level. Surprise: It only takes 17 minutes to fully charge the 4,000mAh battery. For comparison, OPPO's Super VOOC is currently the fastest wired charging technology at 50W at 10V / 5A, which is only half that of Xiaomi's Super Charge Turbo.
To be able to deliver such good charging performance, Super Charge Turbo technology will come with high-voltage charge pump, 9-coil safety circuit, and independent microcontroller (MCU) to limit Maximum Deadlock phenomenon.
Xiaomi CEO Lin Bin confidently claims Super Charge Turbo will be the world's most advanced mobile fast charging technology by the time it is officially launched. This statement is not without basis when Huawei's newly launched Super Charge 55W (equipped with Mate X) also takes up to 35 minutes to fully charge the device. Or it takes the iPhone XS Max 121 minutes to fully charge a 3,174mAh battery from 0 to 100% with the MacBook's 87W adapter.
Xiaomi has not yet announced the official launch date of Super Charge Turbo, but it is likely that the technology will be applied on its 2020 flagship models, such as the Mi Mix 4 and even Chi is the Redmi product line.
