In addition to the usual login, Microsoft will provide new operating system users with a different login option with a Windows Live account. According to the Microsoft user experience program group director, logging in with Windows Live will have many utilities such as:
- Link, synchronize settings on your computer with Windows Live account. This allows users to save settings when they log on to another computer with this account.
- Save the "credentials" of applications and websites for you to use next time without having to log in again.
- Metro interface applications will also be synchronized.
- Automatically log into applications and services using Windows Live as an authenticated account.
This service will be reserved for Windows 8 computers. Windows Phone users or other versions of Windows operating systems will not be used.
Windows 8 users can log in with Windows Live.
In the Control Panel in Windows 8, you are provided with a 'Sync PC Settings' option that allows you to turn off or enable this synchronization function. This data will be stored in Microsoft's 'cloud' service. Users can turn off / on all of these sync options, or just select a few apps to sync (sync apps, browsers, themes .)
A new tool called Restore / refresh will also help users create a backup of the settings so that they can be restored later.
