What is Wireless Powershare?
Wireless PowerShare is an innovative feature that allows you to turn Galaxy Note 10, Note 10+, Galaxy Fold, etc. into a wireless charger. Also known as wireless reverse charging, Wireless PowerShare lets you share batteries and charge your Galaxy Watch, Galaxy Buds or other Qi-capable devices, easily. Let's find out more about this feature through the following article.
What is Wireless PowerShare?
This is the name given to Samsung's reverse charging technology, which was launched alongside Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus, Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S10e.
Basically, it's a way to turn your S10 series device into a Qi charging dock, using your phone battery to wirelessly charge another device.
It's still not known exactly how fast Wireless PowerShare will charge phones and other accessories, but it will probably be slower than using a traditional Qi charging pad. This feature is useful in situations, such as when a friend's phone is about to shut down and you need to quickly help them charge the device.
Samsung is not the first brand to use features like this. Huawei once had the same technology on the flagship Huawei Mate 20 Pro. Like with Wireless Powershare, this technology allows you to charge other phones just by exposing them to the back of Mate 20 Pro.
What can Wireless Powershare charge?
Wireless Powershare will allow you to share your device's battery with any other Qi-enabled phones or accessories. Whether it's the iPhone XS, LG G7 or Pixel 3, any of these devices can be charged using Wireless Powershare.
While the idea of charging a phone like this is great, it will take you a lot of time, due to the slow charging speed.
But on the positive side, quickly putting the Galaxy Buds on the back of the S10 to charge it seems like an ideal way to reduce the amount of chargers you need to carry around.
Will Wireless Powershare come to other phones?
Currently, Wireless Powershare is available on the following phones:
- Samsung Galaxy S10
- Samsung Galaxy S10e
- Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus
- Samsung Galaxy Note 10
- Samsung Galaxy S20
- Samsung Galaxy S20
- Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra
This is a useful feature and will likely continue to appear on other Samsung devices in the future.
