Tips for reading Word files without opening them
The Microsoft Word text editor has a very interesting function, allowing users to preview the document content without opening the file. Follow these simple instructions.
This tip will be very useful because with your daily document processing, you have to store so many files, to find the content you need and forget the name of the file you saved, it is the same like 'digging the bottom of a needle' So, you can use Word's built-in feature to find the right file before opening it instead of having to turn each file on and off to find it.
Follow these steps:
- Open Start and select Program and start the Microsoft Word program.
- Open the File menu and click on Open to open any word file. A small dialog box will appear where you can select the file to open.
Now, on the right hand side of the dialog box, you will see Views and select Preview to default to this mode.
The Preview column will appear. Here, when clicking on a word file on the left column, the preview of that file will appear in the right column. If you find the right file, the last thing to do is click the Open button to open the file.
