The world's first flying racing race is about to become a reality: Taking place at the end of 2020, using the model car like in this fantasy movie to compete
For decades, the idea of a car that could fly in traffic was only fiction, appearing in future Hollywood-themed films. However, the rapid development of technology has gradually helped people gradually realize the idea of a vehicle that can both move on the ground and fly in the sky.
In recent years, a series of flying prototypes have been launched in the world. The most prominent of these is Airspeeder, an electric flying car researched and developed by Alauda.
First introduced to the public last summer, Airspeeder features a blend of F1 racing cars and drones. At the present time, Airspeeder is still conducting the final tests before this fantasy car can hit the market.

Reportedly, Alauda has recruited US Air Force pilots to test drive the MK4 variant - the latest version of Airspeeder. Notably, this variant will also be used in the first flight race in the world.
Accordingly, Alauda expects the Airspeeder MK4 flying racing to become a popular speed sport in the future, similar to the current F1 racing. With a combination of sports and science fiction, this flying race will attract the attention of both speed enthusiasts and e-sports enthusiast gamers.
When the race is held, it will be broadcast live on the Internet for the world audience to follow. Meanwhile, live tracking of the race will be limited to a number of VIPs only.

Airspeeder MK4 was launched as a concept in the summer of 2019.

Driven by experienced pilots, these flying cars will use Laser Radar (or LiDAR) sensors, technologies that are often used on self-driving cars to avoid traffic collisions.

The maximum speed of Airspeeder MK4 is up to 241 km / h thanks to four electric motor propellers of 24 KW.

Maximum load of Airspeeder MK4 is about 100kg, enough for a pilot to control.

Each car weighs only about 226kg. The ultra-light weight combined with the powerful engine helps Airspeeder have a power index - weight is even better than Formula 1 racing cars.

When the race is scheduled to take place, Alauda will provide the racing teams with Airspeeder's hardware equipment, allowing the teams to customize their technology.

Like F1, the Airspeeds will also have Pit Stop, when the steering wheel takes your car to a stop for technical inspection. However, because Airspeeder uses an electric motor, the Pit Stop time will also be much shorter.

Inspired by science fiction movies, the Airspeeder's cockpit could use simulation technology to make pilots more controllable.

The race will be held in the desert of Adelaide, Australia.

Currently, Airspeeder is ready to conduct testing. Once the blockade and social gap rules in Australia are lifted, test flights will begin.

According to manufacturer Alauda, the first race could be held later this year.
