Sony is producing cars, with 33 sensors, this will be the 'most sensitive' car in the world
The race for autonomous car technology is hotter than ever with the participation of not only big names in the automotive industry such as Tesla, BMW, Toyota, Volvo, but also manufacturers. Major technology manufacturers such as Google, Amazon, Apple, and the upcoming 'talent' from the land of the rising sun Sony.
The Japanese electronics, entertainment and financial services company surprised the concept of an all-electric car that the company is cherishing called Vision-S. Sony has partnered with a number of big names in the technology industry such as Bosch, Continental, Genetex, Magna and NVIDIA to create this model, promising an unprecedented experience, while also showing the seriousness of the home. Japanese production in plans to encroach into the smart car market.
What's on Vision-S?
Vision-S is equipped with two 200 kW electric motors, capable of accelerating from 0 - 100 km / h in just 4.8 seconds before reaching a top speed of 239 km / h - not inferior to the models. Use powerful internal combustion engine now. Air suspension system with 2.3 tons of weight gives the car extremely stable performance.
However, what makes this car great is its advanced technology. With a total of 33 different sensors arranged around the car, it can be said Vision-S is one of the 'most sensitive' cars today. It has level 2 driver assistance features such as adaptive cruise control, automatic lane change and automatic parking. The CMOS image sensor, Solid State LiDAR and Radar system allow the vehicle to detect, identify people and surrounding vehicles, minimizing any collision situations that can occur in real time. The Time of Flight (ToF) sensor can detect the gesture and position of passengers on the vehicle to recommend the most suitable entertainment and safety modes.
The car does not have a traditional rearview mirror, instead, it uses the rear view camera sensors located in the rearview mirror position. This is how more and more modern cars are applied.
The interior compartment of Vision-S is reminiscent of a luxurious entertainment space instead of a car cabin. There will be plenty of screens for optimal entertainment and interaction between people and cars. Vision-S is equipped with a 'Paronama' main screen that extends across the dashboard from the driver's position to the end of the passenger seat. Behind are two large entertainment screens attached to the back of the front row, combined with 360 stereo speakers. Of course, this entertainment system will also integrate all of Sony's leading services today.
