German operator Vodafone, Nokia hardware manufacturer and Audi maker will work together to "equip" the mobile phone network to transmit data on the Moon, the satellite naturally revolves around the Earth.
This project was announced at the recent Mobile World Congress 2018. The companies involved in the project contacted SpaceX, a rocket launcher, and they are working with PTScientists, a group of volunteer scientists in Berlin to work on collaborative projects. Especially to achieve the goal of putting it into operation from 2019.
Although the future goal is to bring mobile network to the Moon, this project does not use 5G network but deploy 4G connection. According to the explanation of the founder, this project is due to more reliable 4G technology at the present time and easy to set up for use in the harsh conditions of the space.
When the project was successful, people could watch live HD video stream directly from the Moon's surface to Earth, a fantasy that was quite cool and worth waiting for?
