Typically, customers cannot install any software other than Sony's programs, so users must hack their own PSP to install another game.PSPBrick virus pretends to be an unlocking tool, allowing people to download and play any game. However, once it enters the machine, it will delete the entire file system and cause the device to stop working.

PSPBrick appeared a few days ago and created a lively debate on many PSP forums. Some members said that it was the product development team that created the virus: "Someone paid Sony and thought they could do anything with the device if they wanted to."This suspicion stems from the 2000 event when Symantec announced the first virus in the Palm OS product, and since then, the security firm started trading antivirus tools for handheld devices.

However, the PSP manufacturer said it did not release such a program, saying it was working on a patch soon.Sony also recommends that customers should not download any software to the device without official notice.
