This trait system works slightly differently; whenever you reach a certain trait threshold, you'll receive a Kingpin hat. This hat enhances the unique abilities of the Gang heroes' skills. Therefore, the Gang system becomes more versatile, allowing players to choose who wears the Kingpin hat to boost their skills. Although there are fewer heroes and the combinations are flexible, you'll still need some of the tips below to use the Gang system more effectively.
Characteristics of Gangster Generals
Receive the Kingpin's Hat, which upgrades the exclusive skills of Gang heroes, and also increases the HP and damage of Gang heroes.
- 3 Gangs: +100 HP, +5% DA, 1 Kingpin helmet
- 5 Gangs : +450 HP, +20% DA, 2 Kingpin helmets
- 7 Gangs : +600 HP, +30% DA, Kingpin effect upgrade
Build a Gang team composition in TFT Season 14
Early game
The goal in the early game is to build a strong enough team to maintain a stable health pool and save money for the slow roll phase at level 6 later on.
You should pick up early-game Gang champions like Twisted Fate, Darius, and Shaco from the shop. You can also combine them with champions that have strong early-game synergies like Dr. Mundo (paired with Darius to activate 2 Brawlers) or other 1-cost champions that can activate additional synergies in the team.
The goal at the beginning of the game is still to activate 3 Gangs as early as possible to take advantage of the initial effect and get the Kingpin hat. Additionally, you can combine other factions depending on what you find appealing.

Regarding item management, the top priority is to combine component items for Twisted Fate with items like Rageblade or Shojin's Spear, and other magic items such as Sorcerer's Hat, Nashor's Tooth, and Jeweled Gauntlet. Tank items can be temporarily given to Darius or Dr. Mundo to enhance their survivability in the early game.
If you find that the start isn't favorable for Twisted Fate, you might consider winning a losing streak to gain priority in item picks during the shop phase. However, if you win a winning streak, aim for level 4 by round 2-1.
Mid-match
The goal at this stage is to reach level 6. If you're lucky, you can complete your team with 5 Gang champions and then slow roll for lower-cost champions. Twisted Fate and Darius are the main choices for increased tankiness and damage. However, Miss Fortune usually won't appear early enough for you to activate a 5-Gang team.
If you can't find Miss Fortune and Braum, your ideal team composition would be: Twisted Fate, Darius, Skarner, Dr. Mundo, Kog'Maw, and Shaco . This composition will activate 3 Gangs, 2 Brawlers, 2 Explosive Robots, 2 Chain Attacks, and 2 Butchers, thus activating quite a few synergies.
Just focus on finding Twisted Fate and Darius, and continue this process until both champions reach 3 stars. Then, continue to level up to level 7 and find Miss Fortune and Braum to activate 5 Gangs.
The End
After successfully upgrading Twisted Fate and Darius to 3 stars, the next goal is to level up and add powerful support units to complete the 5 Gang lineup.
Add Braum and Miss Fortune to the lineup. This addition will complete the 5-Clan milestone and activate an additional 2 Vanguards (Braum) and 2 Strategists (Miss Fortune).
You can add Aurora to your lineup to swap the position of another champion you have in the queue. If you see your team is missing something, put a 5-gold champion in that spot. Note that you cannot put Aurora on the board because Aurora on the board will not swap with Aurora in the queue.
My suggestion is to choose a tank champion because the Gang's tanks will get weak later on. You can add Zac to swap roles and increase your own health. He also deals decent damage, so this is a champion you should consider.
Arrange the team formation
Regarding team composition, Twisted Fate should be placed in a safe position in the back row to maximize his survivability and consistent damage output. Darius and Braum will, of course, be the front line tank to absorb enemy damage. Miss Fortune can be placed in the middle or back row to deal area-of-effect damage. The specific positions of the champions may need to be adjusted depending on the opponent's team composition and the flow of the game.
Equip the Gang Generals.
- Twisted Fate: Prioritize Rageblade, double Rageblade is also good to continuously deal cards and burst damage right from the start. Add Hextech Gunblade or a few other magic items to increase magic damage.
- Shaco: Take Bloodthirster and Darkin/Mercury Cloak for increased survivability, Infinity Edge and Blue Buff for increased damage and armor reduction.
- Miss Fortune: Add Giant Slayer and Counter Strike to tank damage, take Blue Bow and Infinity Edge to reduce armor and magic resistance and increase critical strike chance and damage. Also, take Shojin's Spear for mana regeneration.
- Darius - Braum: Take Sunfire Cape or Lightning Bolt to deal damage over time and reduce the magic resistance of enemy tanks. Alternatively, add other options like Bloodthirster, Thornmail, Dragon's Claw, Stoneplate, Redemption Chain, or Guardian's Vow .
Easy to rotate and combine with other factions, the Gang is a force that can dominate from the start of the game despite having only 5 champions and no 5-gold champions. However, with their damage-dealing skills and Kingpin helmet, you don't need to assemble a full Gang to see these champions appear in many different teams.
