Survival tips in Maneater beginners need to know
Becoming the Apex Predator - the top predator in Maneater is no easy task. When first starting out as an adult shark, the player has to face a lot of bigger and more dangerous fish there. Not to mention the hunters, who had specialized and extremely powerful shark hunting equipment.
Climbing to the top of the food chain as a beginner in this action RPG can be quite tiring at times as there is so much to learn. So, to make your first few hours in Maneater a little easier, apply these simple tips to get the most out of your abilities.
Follow the Telegraph
Underwater combat is often hard to balance but in Maneater the other creatures have Telegraph and keeping track of these makes the whole process of reaching the top of the food chain much easier.
For example, most targets that switch between dash or charge attack come with an ability to dodge. This is usually done by swiping their tails if the player gets too close to them. It was a set of moves they could never overcome.
If you step back and attack immediately after dodging or when they glow before dashing, the player will deal a large amount of damage. This can be extremely useful when fighting larger Apexs as they can deal massive amounts of damage if hit.
Don't skip the tail swipe
Gamers can easily forget certain moves when facing difficult situations in combat, but remember the tail swipe because it is extremely useful. Not only does it give prey and predators a good shot to keep them in, but if placed at the right angle, the player can launch them pretty far.
This move does not work with things larger than the player's shark. However, as the shark grows, gamers will be able to throw various creatures out of the sea in some cases.
Tips against a group of enemies
Fighting against a single target in Maneater is hard enough, but having a group of predators or hunters surround you is even more challenging. However, there are some tricks for gamers to preserve their lives in this case.
First of all, don't just focus on one goal. Spread the damage over the entire group of enemies and dodge around to deliver a good smash. This will reset the attack form and give the player some breathing space. Tail swishing on smaller targets, like small fish and people falling into the water, also helps deal a bit of damage.
Take advantage of the slowdown
One cool little feature of Maneater is that when the player grabs someone in the powerful jaws, the game slows down for a few seconds. In those few short seconds, everyone should take advantage of it to navigate to a new target, toss food with its tail, or quickly escape if overwhelmed. Battles can get pretty chaotic, and using those brief seconds to plan ahead can help.
