Samsung sterilizes phones free of charge in Vietnam
Samsung will use a UV sterilizer to disinfect users' phones.
During the time COVID-19 epidemic was raging, Samsung recently announced a very meaningful program for users: free disinfection of phones.
Rudra Barkappanavar, an immunologist at the University of Tennessee Medical Science Center, estimates that coronavirus can survive on glass surfaces (including smartphone screens) for up to 96 hours, or 4. day at room temperature. Therefore, smartphones can completely be an intermediary causing disease if not cleaned.
To help users prevent disease, Samsung will launch the "Galaxy Cleaning Service" program on 900 Samsung Customer Care Centers and Samsung Experience Stores around the world.
In Vietnam, starting from March 16 (in Hanoi, Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh, Can Tho), and from April 1 (with other cities), when users visit a service center. Samsung will receive free cleaning and sterilization services.
Samsung said the service uses a UV-C ultraviolet sterilizer, which helps disinfect phones without damaging them.
