Microsoft will stop providing compatibility support for Word, Excel and PowerPoint from April
Recently, Microsoft has updated on the download page to announce that the support package installer is compatible, Office Compatibility Pack for Word, Excel and PowerPoint will be removed next month.
From Office 2003 and earlier, Word, Excel and PowerPoint files have formats like DOC, XLS and PPT respectively. These formats are upgraded to DOCX, XLSX and PPTX with Office 2007 version and later. Office Compatibility Pack was developed to help older versions of Office can open, read and edit documents created by newer versions of Office.
