Microsoft updated Patch Tuesday in October 2020, patching the 'Ping of Death' vulnerability on Windows 10
Patch Tuesday update October 2020 was released on October 14. In this update, Microsoft has patched 87 vulnerabilities on Windows 10, including 21 vulnerabilities that can be exploited to execute remote attacks.
Currently, any vulnerabilities exploited by hackers have not been discovered. However, the six vulnerabilities have been made public so hackers can easily develop attack methods based on them.
CVE-2020-16898 is considered the most serious among the vulnerabilities that have just been patched by Microsoft. This vulnerability allows hackers to exploit a flaw in the Windows TCP / IP stack when it processes ICMPv6 Router Adversiement packets.

Microsoft recommends Windows users to urgently install the October Tueday Patch because the CVE-2020-16898 vulnerability has a score of 9.8 for criticality. Another vulnerability is that CVE-2020-16899 is also classified as dangerous, with a high possibility of exploitation.
Fortunately, Microsoft says that both vulnerabilities have been discovered by the internal security team. Therefore, the vulnerability trace code will not appear unless someone reverse the source code of Windows 10 and discovers their origin.
87 vulnerabilities are fixed in Patch Tuesday October affecting Windows, Office and Office Services and Web Apps, Visual Studio, Azure Functions, .NET Framework, Microsoft Dynamics, Open Source Software, Exchange Server, and Windows Codec Library.
