They often infiltrate with the aim of satisfying their curiosity or creating new things. Here are famous hackers from the early Internet.
Kevin Mitnick
This is one of the most famous hackers from the early days of Internet development. During his 'career', he has infiltrated many large organizations and companies including Pacific Bell, Digital Equipment Corporation, Motorola, Nokia.
In 1992, the US authorities ordered the arrest of Mitnick and he was arrested in 1995. While on the run, he continued to carry out a number of other attacks and data thefts. With a series of cyber intrusion charges, Kevin Mitnick was sentenced to several years in prison. Robert Tappan Morris
Robert Tappan Morris is credited as the "father" of the computer worm (Worm). Morris graduated from Harvard University, then went on to study at Cornell University. This was around the time he created the computer program. Since November 1988, Morris's program infected MIT's servers causing a large-scale denial of service attack that affected much of the Internet. The world's first worm he created infected about 10% of computers connected to the Internet at the time and was named Morris worm.
Because of this "invention" Morris became the first person to be found guilty of violating the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act.
Currently, Robert Tappan Morris is a computer scientist, entrepreneur, and professor at MIT.

This is the world's first famous hacker group consisting of some teenage teenagers from Milwaukee, Wisconsin (USA). 414 was born in the 1980s and has infiltrated a series of government agencies, banks and other organizations such as Los Alamos National Laboratory, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. Finally members of the All of these groups were arrested by the FBI one by one.
Mark Abene
Mark Abene, a member of the Masters of Deception (MOD) hacker group, is nicknamed "Phiber Optik". Abene is still a minor, but has been involved in a series of cyberattacks. In 1991, Abene and other members of the MOD were arrested, and he was sentenced to 12 months in prison. After his release from prison, he became a well-known figure in the security community, frequently speaking at hacker and security conferences around the globe. Currently, Mark Abene is the Director of Cybersecurity at Rivian.
David L. Smith
Smith is a programmer for AT&T's subcontractor and the creator of the Melissa virus that has the ability to automatically spread via email. The virus will automatically forward to the first 50 people in the victim's Microsoft Outlook address book when they click on the email. The damage caused by the Melissa virus is in the millions of dollars. In April 1999, Smith was arrested by the FBI in New Jersey (USA) and sentenced to 20 years in prison and a $5,000 fine.
Julian Assange
In 1987, Julian Assange began carrying out attacks, when he was only 16 years old. Julian Assange is the typical teenage hacker, rich in achievements and famous. In 1991, when infiltrating the Nortel telecommunications company, Assange and members of the group were arrested. He was charged with 31 counts, given three years' probation and a fine of $2,300.
Later, Julian Assange founded WikiLeaks, which is an organization specializing in providing leaked information with a global reputation. The organization has made public millions of secret documents of governments around the world, most notably the US. Currently, Assange is being detained in the UK. The US is keen to extradite Assange to the country for trial and if this happens he could face up to 175 years in prison.
