So after a few weeks of negotiations with the British Sky Broadcasting Group (BSkyB, or Sky), a UK satellite TV company, the SkyDrive trademark lawsuit is over.

Accordingly, Microsoft has decided not to appeal to the British court and officially accepted to give up the name SkyDrive - the name of its cloud storage service - worldwide, it is known that this US technology group will soon give a new name instead in a short time.

BSkyB said it will allow Microsoft to continue to use the name SkyDrive for a period of time to allow Microsoft to plan for a new name.

This agreement will include financial provisions and some other issues, but for security reasons, both BSkyB and Microsoft refuse to disclose specifically. Of course, Microsoft will have to pay a small sum of money for BSkyB because of SkyDrive trademark infringement, but now that is no longer a concern, many people show concern for Microsoft at the moment. It is the ability to protect its brand names.

Obviously, after the incident to lose the name " Metro " and recently " SkyDrive ", Microsoft needs to look back on things more seriously if they do not want to continue changing the name of many other services.
