Per Bjorke, senior product manager at Google, said that the deleted applications have downloaded more than 4.5 billion times.

Cheetah Mobile, a Chinese-based company and one of the largest developers on Google Play, was also 'purged' this time. Previously, this company was repeatedly accused of fraudulent business practices.

In December, some of Cheetah Mobile's apps were removed by Google for violating the policy. And by this morning, all 45 developer apps on Google Play have disappeared.
