According to a recent report from the Ministry of Information and Communications, with more than 76 million monthly users, Zalo has surpassed Facebook (72 million), YouTube (63 million) and TikTok (67 million) in the Vietnamese market.

Deputy Minister of Information and Communications - Pham Duc Long said that over the past year, the electronic information sector has made positive contributions to the information and communications industry in particular and to social life in general. In particular, domestic platforms are showing positive signs of development as they are gradually attracting a large number of users in Vietnam.

With a development strategy focusing on artificial intelligence - "AI-First", from 2022 to present, Zalo has brought a series of AI features to upgrade user experience, including: eKYC (2022), Text to speech (2023), Voice to text (2023), Zalo AI Avatar (2023), Voice dictation (2024), zSticker AI (2024).

10x performance improvement

According to the survey, some Zalo users said that the software is sometimes slow and unstable, this is common among users with a large number of daily interactive messages and large Zalo memory.

To overcome the above situation, Zalo has made many improvements to optimize application startup time, message display time when opening the chat window, limit hanging during use leading to loss of user messages, improve performance when using continuously.

According to information from the developer, the new version of Zalo has a startup time 2 times faster, displays messages 3 times faster while the application stability is increased 10 times.

Add Dark Mode

After many user suggestions, the development team has added dark mode to Zalo. This feature is especially suitable for using Zalo at night or in low light environments.

Increase search efficiency on chat window

One of the main problems that Zalo PC users often report is the difficulty in searching for old messages or files.

Specifically, the results that users need to search for are often not displayed at the top but hidden deep below. The content of the suggested results lacks clear information, users have to spend time reading each result to get the desired information. The search results list covers the conversation list, making it difficult for users to update new messages.

Zalo PC has overcome the above disadvantages by tightening 'logic matching' (compatibility in the logic between search content and returned results) by eliminating cases of keyword order reversal, results with words inserted between keywords. and prioritizing the return of the desired results at the top of the list.

In addition, the returned results prioritize displaying content around the keyword, not fixed at the beginning of the message. The display of the results list is also moved from the left position (conversation list side) to the right side of the messaging frame.

Changes in search help optimize user experience in many aspects: Faster search, more accurate results, optimized messaging experience for users while searching, optimized preview result display space.
