iPhone users confused by strange sounds
The issue is common on new iPhone models like iPhone 15, 16, and iPhones running iOS 18.
According to Google Trend's report on the morning of January 7, searches for iOS 18.2.1 suddenly skyrocketed by 300%.
The strong interest in iOS 18.2.1 comes as many iPhone users in Vietnam are sharing widely on social networking groups about their phones making strange sounds even without opening any applications.
This issue is common on new iPhone models like iPhone 15, 16 and iPhones running iOS 18.
Mr. Nguyen Tung (living in Ho Chi Minh City) - using iPhone 16, iOS version 18.2 - said that his phone suddenly emitted a strange voice even though he did not open any application.
"At night, when I was about to go to bed, suddenly my iPhone emitted someone's voice. I checked but couldn't determine which application the sound came from. At first, I thought it might be TikTok, YouTube. running in the background, but after checking carefully and turning off all the applications, I still heard a strange voice" - Mr. Tung worriedly said.

iPhone suddenly makes strange sound at midnight, confusing users
Ms. Phuong Ha (living in Ho Chi Minh City) said that she heard a conversation in a foreign language between a man and a woman even though she did not touch her phone or open any application. "Hearing that sound from my iPhone in the middle of the night really scared me," Ms. Ha said.
Many iPhone users are concerned that their phones are being remotely hacked and eavesdropped on by "hackers".
According to Wccftech, the cause of the problem may stem from a Bluetooth bug in iOS 18 when the operating system automatically connects to nearby devices and plays unwanted sounds.
In addition to the audio bug, iOS 18 also recorded many other problems such as slow camera startup, FaceID not working, and the phone randomly shutting down or restarting.
Notably, this is not the first time users have reported strange voices coming from their iPhones. Apple has yet to comment or respond to this issue.
