Intel is preparing to release wireless laptops?
The new model is also capable of wirelessly connecting to external displays via Wi-Di (Wireless Display) technology, which eliminates HDMI and DisplayPort ports.
PC industry and Intel's worries
Intel has provided users with a first look at the world's first wireless laptop, which features wireless charging and peripheral connectivity without cables.
The prototype of Intel's laptop shows that you won't have to carry a bulky adapter , thanks to the ability to charge after being placed on a wireless charging table, or a special surface.
The new model is also capable of wirelessly connecting to external displays via Wi-Di ( Wireless Display ) technology, which eliminates HDMI and DisplayPort ports.
At Intel Development Forum (IDF) last week in Shenzhen ( China ), Kirk Skaugen, Intel's vice president and general manager, said: ' This is the first computer. in the world you will never need a connection cord '.
This computer is designed to provide software developers, helping them create applications that take advantage of wireless features. Some laptop manufacturers have begun to be interested in this feature in some of their commercial models.
The current prototype is a hybrid in which the screen can be pulled out of the keyboard dock. Intel is looking for a way to wirelessly connect laptops to peripherals, such as monitors and external drives via the new WiGig technology. At 7 Gbps data transfer rate, WiGig is much faster than Wi-Fi.
According to Skaugen, Intel's original wireless laptop is also the first laptop to use the upcoming 6th-generation Intel processor code-named Skylake. Computers using Skylake chips are expected to start selling in the second quarter of 2015.
However, Intel's wireless computers are said to be unrealistic at the present time by restricting peripheral devices, and wireless charging surface systems for laptops that have not been installed in restaurants, coffee shop or public places .
Intel is conducting negotiations with airlines, airports, restaurants and other organizations to provide wireless charging stations. It may take another year before the wireless display and external storage devices become popular.
