How to Set Up WTFast and Test Whether It Reduces Game Ping

WTFast is a paid game-routing service that may improve latency when an internet provider is taking an inefficient route to a game server. It cannot guarantee a lower ping, repair a damaged cable, improve weak Wi-Fi, fix a congested game server, or solve low frame rates. The useful test is a controlled before-and-after comparison with the same game, region, and network conditions.

Before installing a routing service

Rule out local problems first:

• Use Ethernet or move closer to the Wi-Fi router.
• Pause cloud backups, large downloads, and high-resolution streaming.
• Choose the closest official game region that your account can use.
• Restart the modem and router if the connection has become unstable.
