How to turn off Tap to Wake on iPhone X so that the screen does not light up when touched
Turning off the Tap to Wake feature on iPhone (Touch to unlock) will no longer brighten up the screen when touched, helping you to reduce accidentally turning on the phone screen, saving iPhone battery when needed.
One of the new iPhone X features is Tap to Wake, which allows you to turn on the device by tapping the screen. It's a great way to quickly check the latest announcements. However, if you keep accidentally touching the screen repeatedly, or you want to save battery power, turn off this feature.
Previously, the iPhone has a Raise to Wake feature, which allows you to turn on the screen when holding the device up. Disabling the Tap to Wake feature does not affect Raise to Wake.
Step 1. Open the Settings / Settings app on the device → press General / General settings .
Step 2. Next, click Accessibility / Accessibility .
Step 3. Now, turn off the switch next to Tap to Wake.
After disabling the feature, when you touch the screen of the iPhone, the screen will not light up again. If you want to activate it again, you can follow the steps above and turn on the switch next to Tap to Wake.
By default, the Raise to Wake feature will be enabled on iPhone phones. But if you have turned off this feature, turn it on to quickly open the device's screen. Do this by going to Settings → Display & Brightness and turning on the switch next to Raise to Wake.
