How to turn off Snap Layout in Windows 11
In Windows 11, when you hover over the minimize/maximize button on an application window, you'll see different Snap layout options. However, if you find this annoying, it's easy to turn them off and here's how.
What is Snap Layout?
Snap layout is one of the outstanding features of Windows 11, allowing you to quickly arrange and move open application windows on the screen. Assuming you have a bunch of windows open across various applications, when you hover your mouse over the minimize/maximize button on an application window and select a layout from the menu, the open application windows will follow the layout. local area, and change according to the corresponding positions on the screen.
In other words, this Snap layout feature allows you to arrange the open application windows on the screen based on different layouts. Then all will be saved in a particular arrangement. This way, you'll have more free space on your screen to maximize multitasking.
How to turn off Snap Layout in Windows 11
To disable Snap layout in Windows 11, first open the Settings app on your PC by pressing the Windows + i key combination .
In the Settings interface, from the list on the left, click on ' System '.
On the ' System ' settings screen , scroll down to the right pane and click ' Multitasking '.
At the top of the ' Multitasking ' screen , click the switch to the right of the ' Snap Windows ' option to toggle it off.
Snap layout is now disabled. You won't see any layout options when hovering over the minimize/maximize button on the app window anymore.
Remove Snap layout from Minimize/Maximize button
If you want to keep Snap layout enabled, but don't want the layout options to appear automatically on hover of the minimize/maximize button, just do the following:
First go to the Windows Settings app and on the same ' Multitasking ' page where you disabled ' Snap Windows ' above, click on the ' Snap Windows ' menu and deactivate the ' Show Snap Layouts When I Hover over a' option Window's Maximize button '.
This will keep Snap layout enabled without showing any options on the minimize/maximize buttons of the application window.
